Whether you have just moved out on your own or you have a girl that you really want to impress, make sure that you are not eating ramen noodles every night. Cooking is a lot easier than you think, so consider these recipes that will set you apart from the other blokes without breaking the bank!
Bruschetta is an Italian dish which is perfect when you want to show someone special a good time. Chop up four or five tomatoes, dice half an onion and mince a clove of garlic. Throw them all into a pot, and bring them up to a boil. Immediately remove from heat and stick it in the fridge for a day or so. After that, serve it on sliced and toasted French bread for real European flair.
Pasta salad is easy, and you can make it by the pound if you want. Cook up a box of small pasta shapes, like rotini or ziti. Rinse it in cold water instead of warm water. Toss it with a few spoonful’s of mayonnaise, some lemon juice, some canned tuna, a cut up onion and some Italian spices, and you’re done! This dish, like bruschetta, does better if you chill it before eating, but it is delicious either way!
Baked Cheese Sandwich
If you can’t seem to make a grilled cheese sandwich without turning it black, bake your cheese sandwich instead. Oil your cookie sheet and lay two pieces of bread on it. Lay a slice of cheese on each piece. Bake at 400 degrees for about 6 minutes, and then remove and enjoy. It really is that easy. For some extra flavor, add a few slices of tomato.
Beef lasagne recipes seem hard but they’re actually the easiest and last the longest. All you have to do is pre-cook some mince vegetables in a desired sauce, make Besciamella and you’re done with the filling. Then all you have to do from there is layer lasagne sheets and mince add cheese on top and pop it in the oven at a medium heat for about 30mins and you will have created a meal for the entire week.
This is a fantastic recipe to use when you have some takeaway Chinese rice to get rid of. Pour a small amount of oil into a skillet, and fry up any vegetables you have in the house. Throw the leftover rice on top, and add some soy sauce and a very small amount of sugar to the skillet. Cook over a medium-high heat until everything is brown and fragrant. You can also add a bit of Vietnamese fish sauce for taste.
Remember that cooking doesn’t need to be difficult. Do not wander away from your food; instead, stand over it and watch it. This is a good way to make sure that you can make some amazingly tasty food for any occasion. There are some amazing options out there, so make sure that you don’t miss out.
